The Templar Cross – symbol of the Templar Order
The Templar Cross in red was the most famous emblem of the Templar Order, which existed from 1118 to 1312. The Knights Templar played an important role in the Middle Ages because, like other knightly orders, they protected pilgrims on the Way of St. James. There are still historic buildings on the Spanish Way of St. James that remind us of the presence of the Templars.
